This past week, little Juliana started on semi-solid foods.  First up was rice cereal, and all in all she did really well.  She picked up right away what she was supposed to do, and though the first few sessions were pretty messy, she was eating nonetheless.  It seems like she's grown even more this week, and we're sure she'll be crawling in no time.
We also visited Oma and Grandpa Woodnorth up in NY for Easter, and she travelled like a champ.  Most of her time was spent sleeping in the car seat, and when she needed a little help getting to sleep, dad played rock music ("Seventh Wonder" in case you were wondering) to put her to sleep.  She's already our little rock star!

This past week has been a fun one for us as Juliana has had lots of new developments.  First of all, as you can see from the video, she is now a laughing machine.  It's hilarious and impossible not to laugh yourself when you hear it.  Also, she is rolling over like crazy and also grabbing her toes at every chance.  This weekend we took a nice long walk on Sunday afternoon (right before the hailstorm and tornado!) through the local park and Juliana seemed to enjoy taking everything in.  She even had a pleasant encounter with a cute little puppy.  All in all, a great week.

sitting up

Finding her Feet!
Looking pretty in her overalls
This chair makes her look soooo funny!!
We weren't sure if she liked the bouncy swing
Pretty Girl!!

Juliana is getting better and better at sitting up. Currently she is borrowing her bf's Bumbo (the little green chair) and is discovering all sorts of new things while she's sitting... including her feet! (just what Jesse and I were hoping for, next on the things to learn is how to wash her own feet before they become stinky little kid feet!)
We're going to try to include the little video we caught of it too... just excuse Jesse's rudeness on it!
We continue to thank God daily for this huge blessing in such a tiny package!

4 months!

Juliana is 4 months old... she had her 4 month Well Child Check at the office today with Dr. Noori and as suspected, she is not starving!!! She weighs in at 14 lbs, 6 oz, and 25 inches long... both in the 75th percentile!!! So maybe she will be taller than her momma! She currently is working on her voice, so the entire appointment she "talked", babbled and yelled. She does wonderfully with her immunizations (after the initial pokes) and is just a little extra sensitive today.

March 1 Baptism

Meeting TWO Great-Grandmothers
Being baptized by Grampa O

Hanging out with Oma the week before the baptism, showing how strong her legs are
She still likes her car seat!

The past month has been a whirlwind of activity for us! Kara went back to work, Jesse stays home with Juliana during the day, we had our first overnight out of the house with Juliana (for which we packed everything but the kitchen sink and took two cars!),  had many grandparents visiting and she was baptized. We were so blessed to have so many family members and friends with us for that special day and will remember it always. Now, we are trying to get back into our own little routine of day to day life with an ever changing, more and more beautiful 4 month old

Quick Update

No pictures today, but a quick update. We have gotten thru a week with Juliana being sick and she is such a champ!!!  Other than being a little (and I mean a LITTLE) fussy, she has continued to do her nebulizer machine with no problem, sleep great and eat great. She is currently just sitting on my lap kicking her little legs like crazy as we spend our Monday together. She skipped church and youth group yesterday and the kids missed her a lot, but we figure home is the safest place for her right now. Her little buddy Miles is sick too... that's what they get for holding hands last week. We feel pretty bad that she got him sick, but he's taking it like a champ today too... doing well other than when he has a fever. So... tis the season for sickness... but thank goodness for good ol' antibodies to help her fight off everything else1

Dressed to impress

How does she get out of that swaddle?
I think Daddy loves her!!!
This is her sick!
trying out the nebulizer at home!

So this week marked Juliana's first illness... but she took it like a champ and has taken to doing a nebulizer machine just fine. She also spent her first week home with dad, while mom returned to work (of course on her sickest day was Mom's first day of work). But she's been visiting the doctor's office to see her Mom every day, and spending lots of long, relaxed and spoiled hours home with Dad.
