2010

Christmas Presents!!! A talking dog named Violet who helps her to learn her name!

Family photo in Beaver Falls, PA with Great-Grammy and Pop-Pop = 4 generations!

Christmas morning at our house in Lancaster
Thanks to Jesse and Uncle Aaron for teaching her this lovely habit!

We now show our good, but really just like to air out the tongue I think!

A new decade! What a year 2009 was! A year of changes and so many firsts...
Juliana first crawled in May with her Grandma's who were able to spend the month with her. She first began to walk in late July/ early August and went quickly to running after that. She got 6 teeth by her FIRST birthday. Had her first birthday party, had her SECOND Thanksgiving and Christmas, was able to meet MANY extended family members, travelled to NY and the Pittsburgh area. What a year of adventures with our loving, little, bare-footed, energetic girl! We can't wait to see what 2010 brings for the 3 of us!!!

November!

Sitting with her pumpkin and the mums (before trying to eat the mums)
She insisted on carrying BOTH pumpkins on her lap as we picked them out

I just realized, in sitting upstairs in our 3rd floor, that this will be my last day up here during her nap. Our friend Aaron arrives tomorrow to spend a year with us while he takes voice lessons and we've been cleaning and sorting like never before in preparation. All that being said, the blog kind of got away from us and I realized we haven't updated it in a while.
Also, our camera has taken a bit of a beating as Juliana loves to knock it off the table whenever she sees it, so the pictures for today are a little dated, maybe a few weeks old now. But she's still the same... busy, running around, still sweet as ever, but not sleeping very well.
We hope everyone is well. It was at this very time last year that we were getting ready for this busy little girl to join our family, what a great year it has been!

10 years out of high school (for Jesse- Kara's not that old)

1. Visiting Great Grandma Widmer last Sunday
2. Sitting in a chair Jesse's Uncle Jim made when Jesse was a little guy
3. Quality time with Great Grandma...and a new favorite toy.
4. On the swings at Evansburg State Park with Oma and Grandpa.  She
looks really tiny from far away!
5.  Climbing up the side of Grampy Widmer's old rocker.  This looks
but she does it about 367 times a day and nearly drives her dad crazy.

So Juliana has been walking for over a month now, and just this week she's become much quicker and way more steady. This was taken about 2 weeks ago, but because she continues to only want to eat and lick the camera when it is within her grasp, this was the best video we have for the time being... hopefully this will satisfy the disbelievers!  We hope that we'll be able to have a "photo shoot" around her first birthday and hopefully we'll get some good standing/ walking shots during that.

Baltimore

Baltimore Aquarium
Our view of Camden Yards from  our hotel room
Swimming in the pool at the hotel
Laughing with (at) Daddy
Being her silly self (she actually still was sick and running a fever this day)
This past weekend, we went away for the first time in a long while....albeit for less than 24 hours, but it was still nice to get away.  We decided to take an overnight to Inner Harbor, Baltimore in order to visit the aquarium and just do some general looking around.  Juliana loved looking at the fish in the aquarium, even to the point of postponing her normal nap about two hours in order to stay awake and take it all in.  She then slept for three hours....and the peasants rejoiced.

This weekend has been wrought with fevers and sleepless nights (more for the parents than for Juliana). But she saw the Doctor today (thankfully mom was working anyways) and it's hopefully just a virus!
She continues to tool around the house, walking from thing to thing and has been pleasant even with her fever. Her 2 top teeth are starting to poke through too! So much happening! She hit the 18 pound mark... no wonder her clothes (especially pj's) are seeming a little tight.
Next weekend we're off to Baltimore for a family weekend to relax- we're going to spend time at the aquarium and have a yummy seafood dinner!
As you can see, Nana and GrampO sent along a little duck outfit for the young lady.  She's one hot chick (Jesse wrote this..."I hate myself.")
