November!

I just realized, in sitting upstairs in our 3rd floor, that this will be my last day up here during her nap. Our friend Aaron arrives tomorrow to spend a year with us while he takes voice lessons and we've been cleaning and sorting like never before in preparation. All that being said, the blog kind of got away from us and I realized we haven't updated it in a while.

 Also, our camera has taken a bit of a beating as Juliana loves to knock it off the table whenever she sees it, so the pictures for today are a little dated, maybe a few weeks old now. But she's still the same... busy, running around, still sweet as ever, but not sleeping very well. 

 We hope everyone is well. It was at this very time last year that we were getting ready for this busy little girl to join our family, what a great year it has been!

10 years out of high school (for Jesse- Kara's not that old)

So Juliana has been walking for over a month now, and just this week she's become much quicker and way more steady. This was taken about 2 weeks ago, but because she continues to only want to eat and lick the camera when it is within her grasp, this was the best video we have for the time being... hopefully this will satisfy the disbelievers!  We hope that we'll be able to have a "photo shoot" around her first birthday and hopefully we'll get some good standing/ walking shots during that.

This past weekend, we went away for the first time in a long while....albeit for less than 24 hours, but it was still nice to get away.  We decided to take an overnight to Inner Harbor, Baltimore in order to visit the aquarium and just do some general looking around.  Juliana loved looking at the fish in the aquarium, even to the point of postponing her normal nap about two hours in order to stay awake and take it all in.  She then slept for three hours....and the peasants rejoiced.  

This weekend has been wrought with fevers and sleepless nights (more for the parents than for Juliana). But she saw the Doctor today (thankfully mom was working anyways) and it's hopefully just a virus! 

She continues to tool around the house, walking from thing to thing and has been pleasant even with her fever. Her 2 top teeth are starting to poke through too! So much happening! She hit the 18 pound mark... no wonder her clothes (especially pj's) are seeming a little tight. 

Next weekend we're off to Baltimore for a family weekend to relax- we're going to spend time at the aquarium and have a yummy seafood dinner! 

As you can see, Nana and GrampO sent along a little duck outfit for the young lady.  She's one hot chick (Jesse wrote this..."I hate myself.")

News Flash: 9 month old walks!!!!

Well, it's official....Juliana is now walking like a pro.  Yesterday, she was still having trouble, but she must have gotten a good night's sleep, because when she woke up, she knew what she was doing.  It was very exciting to see.  Unfortunately, our daughter is a future movie star and is obsessed with the camera whenever she hears it being turned on.  Therefore, all the videos of her aren't very good because as soon as she knows it's there, she does the logical thing...she tries to eat it.  So, we get whatever videos we can.  

Also posted is the picture we're using for Jesse's 10 year high school reunion (can't believe it is already here!).  A good, updated family shot.  

The other video is of Juliana singing to her sunglasses....again until she realizes the camera is running.  Very cute.  

Wednesday

Juliana has now learned to say "Hi" "Hey" and "Hi Dadda/ Momma". This is her eating her dinner and saying hi to dadda in North Carolina. I think it is SO Cute!!!

Monday

oShe climbs on everything now... Grampa moved the newspaper so Juliana climbed onto the stool and ripped everything off of the coffee table to get to it!

Awake at 6:30 am

Target for shoes for Juliana (because Grampa and Oma were getting very worried about her feet)

Another walk followed by tearing apart the house (and climbing on everything!)

So Jesse's out of town this week and Kara and Juliana are in NY visiting Grampa and Oma. So there is a request from Jesse to post pictures regularly. We'll post a few older ones and then one from yesterday. Enjoy!!

Despite the fact that pretty much our whole household has been sick this week at some point, we've had a good few days.  On Saturday, Juliana had a play date with her friend Julia at the local park where they enjoyed the swings.  Then on Sunday, we harvested the first fruits of our vegetable garden: a cucumber, which Juliana volunteered to display for us.  Later in the afternoon, we went over to the Browns' house for a little swim time.  Juliana and Miles enjoyed some quality time in the pool before it started raining too hard to be in there anymore.  All in all, a good weekend.

June has already been a crazy month... but finally seems to be slowing down a bit. We started the month with a visit to the grandparents in NY and FINALLY meeting cousin Nora! They shared some cousin secrets and were  very sweet with each other! Juliana has gotten very good  at "leap frogging" to where she wants to be, standing and playing with her toys, and has TWO teeth! Our lives have changed as she is forever on the move now!
